I Heart Nerds.
I’m aware that the DUST team is well known for beautiful beaded jewellery, cute clothes for kiddies and amazing artworks produced by its members, but it’s time to reveal (confess?) that there’s a nerdier, more unusual side to DUST.

Brain Hanging Decoration, by YourOrganGrinder
Simmone from YourOrganGrinder certainly fits into this category with her amazing needlefelt creations and body organ art. I bought a brain in a jar from Simmone, and they are even more impressive in real life- love this stuff! You’re always seeing new and different things these days, especially in an age where everything is being reinvented – from chocolate bars to Aviva – so it’s nice to see something so normal and everyday brought to life in such a unique format! It’s a cuddly brain!

Pair of Anatomical Cups and Saucers w Brain Heart n Skull, by ArtDecadence
Of course, being a geek doesn’t mean you can’t be elegant at the same time! Espresso and brains are always a great combination in my opinion (well, perhaps it would be more accurate to say that I have always found espresso to be necessary for any sign of brain function).

Kodama a.k.a. Forest Spirit, by ChantelStar
This little guy is rather odd, in a cute what the?! kind of way.

Lightning Frog Coinpurse, by PocketCarnival
I had to include this one too, how could Lightening Frog not make it into the geekery list?? PocketCarnival has a supercute range of products featuring her little characters- many of whom are just a little bit quirky.

Cute Robot, ready to frame, by Moonmum.
For the nerd in your life- Robot Art!

Helical Symmetry, by Morphologica
Finally, I have to admit that I’m one of the DUSTy geeks. The concept behind my new store Morphologica is 100% nerd- jewellery inspired by the beauty of neuroscience.
So with the launch of Morphologica, I thought it was time to expose the other nerds in the team, and hopefully gain some more fans for etsy’s geekery category.

An interesting collection there! Does the fact that I don’t find this stuff “nerdy” make me a nerd? :)
